In a latest development on the Shatta-Stone banter, rapper, Edem had previously revealed in an interview that Ghanaian artistes apparently carry registered guns on stage during their performances.
This revelation was made in an interview on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty on 2nd November 2018 as Edem claimed that most people are ignorant of this fact ongoing in the lives of Ghanaian artistes.
He further explained that there has been several altercations backstage but never onstage and they carry guns because they don’t want to be seen as weak before their fans when an unforeseen circumstance arises before, during or after their performances.
George Quaye, PR of Charterhouse Productions, organizers of the VGMAs, in an interview on Citi FM this morning revealed that he is up to speed with the fact that the security profile of artistes normally do apply for and carry around licensed guns but isn’t sure that the artistes themselves carry guns.
He however claimed that the security for this year’s event had actually been doubled in comparison with previous VGMA editions and there were metal detectors readily available to check up such instances.
Edem just revealed in an interview that the ongoing scuffle between the two Reggae/Dancehall artistes might be a serious issue and not a publicity stunt because no one wants to be disrespected and such issues are commonplace in the industry sighting incidents with Hammer of the last two music productions and others.
